USEFUL LINKS
There are many sites which provide useful information or
services for the Russian Railway enthusiast.
This is a selection of sites we have found helpful. It includes a Model
railway equipment index, Model Railway suppliers, video producers, and sou4rces
of drawings, photos and information. If you know of useful links let us know.
Model Russian Railways

A site started by Jeremy Yoder is association with
the RRG, to promote Russian/Soviet scale modeling in HO 1:87 by highlighting the
models already available in 1:87, as well as including photos of models and
prototypes and modeling projects. A very good write-up on much of what is
available, and well worth browsing. There is also a good feature on Chris'
White's layout, Prokhorovsk.
Feniks – This company is based in Riga, Latvia, and in
Finland, and is a group of skilled craftsmen making HO tank cars and other
products. Jouni Rautiainen runs a website http://www.saunalahti.fi/ries which
illustrates their products. Jouni has recently produced a CD-rom of Soviet and
Finnish rolling stock.
Red Star Railways, PO Box 352, Cheswold, Delaware, 19936,
USA, Run by Chris White, who is a
dedicated Soviet Railway modeller in the USA, and has a splendid layout,
Prokhorovsk (see Jeremy Yoder’s site for feature). Chris can supply books,
videos, locos and rolling stock suitable for HO Soviet/Russian Railways, inc
Bachmann, Gutzold, Feniks and Transsib products. There is a useful website with

Hillside Publishing – 2 Moultrie Road, Rugby,

includes “Soviet Railways in Action”, a 60 minute portrait of the diverse transport
legacy of the Soviet Union, and Sevastopol (This is a non railway film but
useful background for Sovietising a layout.
